Solving complex problems isn’t easy. It entails the collaboration of various external and internal stakeholders – from the latest team member through to the most senior engineer – each playing a vital role in how best to rectify the issue, utilise the tools available, in the least amount of time, to budget.
As a Product Manager, I am at the centre of our interdisciplinary solution-providing process. I am responsible for defining the visionary product objectives and coordinating the internal team members to ensure a viable solution is presented to our customers.
The process generally begins with extensive market research involving the customer, consultants, and subject matter experts. Once those investigations are complete, a developmental pathway/roadmap is drafted, and that’s when the fun begins! At this point, the project is defined into several key milestones, with valuable team members identified and their touchpoints detailed. The customer kept informed along the way for valuable feedback.
However, the pathway is in no way straightforward. More often than not, during discussions with our engineering team, additional features are accumulated, supporting the needs of multiple stakeholders.
As mentioned, the process we undertake is a commitment made by our team, comprised of individual creative minds here at GroundProbe, collaborating at every step to ensure a successful resolution. Because seldom can one individual, as talented as they may be, solve a multidisciplinary issue.
