Meet Our People: Fikri Adrianto, Business Manager – Asia

At GroundProbe our people are our most important asset. It is a supportive space where trust is high, continuous learning is encouraged and personal and professional growth is prioritised.
Meet Fikri, our Business Manager – Asia, based in Balikpapan …
What is your name?
Fikri Adrianto
What is your position at GroundProbe?
I am the Business Manager – Asia based out of Balikpapan, Indonesia
How long have you been working for GroundProbe?
12 years and counting!
Can you tell us about the leadership program you have been involved in?
The recent program that I attended focused on mastering communication skills in Colin James’ Art of Influence. Apparently, in communication, it is not merely content that is important; delivery plays a critical impact; how you move, speak, engage, and use story to create a lasting impact. A direct benefit I gained from the program as it has high relevancy to what I am doing and a powerful methodology that I can apply immediately every day.
What makes your job unique?
Asia is a highly diverse region comprising 48 countries, 60% of the world’s population, more than 1,000 ethnic groups, and even more different languages and dialects. Communicating is already a challenge, let alone developing a business and navigating the obstacles owned by each country through its own set of laws, regulations, and business practices. The key, for me, is to focus on our customers as the cornerstone of our business approach. Through this, we are challenged to define and tailor an authentic value proposition to meet their needs and expectations. Nothing is the same, everything needs to be fine-tuned, and that brings a unique excitement to my work.
What is the best part of working at GroundProbe?
The constant learning process since the very first day I joined in, from the people I work with, from the roles I’ve been exposed to, from the setbacks and successes along the way. I am fortunate that GroundProbe provides the room for me to grow, take calculated risks, and make myself accountable.
Why do you love what you do?
I am happy that I am in a position that enables me to provide a positive experience to my colleagues; delivering promises to our important customers, empowering team members to reach their full potential, and contributing to the company’s growth. It has been a meaningful journey for me personally and professionally.
Can you please tell us a little about yourself?
I come from a mechanical engineering background and have been working in the mining field since my graduation from the University of Indonesia. With a passion for technology, I joined GroundProbe as a Technical Specialist Engineer in 2011, the first two in Asia before it became 100+ employees in 2023.
I am a twin, a father of twins, and a sports enthusiast on a journey to complete my first marathon.
Anything else you would like to add?
My wish is to make an impact in what I am doing, I am thankful for the opportunities that have come to me and for good leaders and people I’ve been introduced to. I am enjoying every step, with the best yet to come.
– Fikri
