Introducing Freya Jeffries, Operations Specialist, Australia

At GroundProbe, our people are our greatest strength. We’re proud to spotlight Freya Jeffries, our Operations Specialist, whose career journey reflects the value of curiosity, adaptability, and continuous learning.
With a strong background in logistics and customer service, Freya has grown rapidly since joining GroundProbe in 2021, from warehouse operations to leading production teams and managing global distribution.
How long have you been working at GroundProbe?
I’ve been with GroundProbe for just over four years, starting in February 2021.
What motivates you most about working at GroundProbe?
When I first joined, I was looking for a more permanent role after university. The GroundProbe team was incredibly supportive from the start. Even though I was overqualified for the warehouse position I applied for, they brought me in with a plan to move into logistics, and that set the tone for everything that followed.
Since then, what’s kept me motivated is the impact of our work. GroundProbe exists to protect people and critical infrastructure, and that really resonates with me. Knowing our technology has helped evacuate communities before slope failures is incredibly powerful. There’s a real sense of purpose here that makes me proud to be part of the team.
How many roles have you had here, and what are they?
I started as a warehouse stores person, then moved into logistics and customer service. I became a Global Logistics and Customer Service Lead, then got offered a secondment as Production Supervisor during a teammates parental leave. After that, I stepped up and led the warehouse and distribution team, and now I’m Operations Specialist for Brisbane, overseeing distribution, warehousing, customer service, and production. It’s been a big journey in just four years.
What does your day-to-day work as an Operations Specialist look like?
I focus on planning capacity, managing team workloads, and allocating resources to meet our production targets. I work closely with the warehousing, distribution, and production teams, and I’m currently involved in the Series 5 project, helping with the transition from product development to full-scale production.
What’s been the most valuable experience so far?
Definitely the connections I’ve made. GroundProbe has a strong, ethical culture where people support each other. I’ve had opportunities I wouldn’t have found elsewhere, like leading a production team without a production background, simply because someone saw potential in me.
How has your career evolved at GroundProbe?
I didn’t have a set path when I started, I followed my interests and said yes to opportunities. I’ve always been curious about how things work across the business, and GroundProbe has encouraged that. The support and flexibility here have allowed me to grow both professionally and personally.
How has working here changed your view of technology in distribution and warehousing?
Before GroundProbe, I had limited exposure to the logistics world. Now I have a solid understanding of both domestic and international distribution, including customs, compliance, and global shipping challenges. I’ve also learned a lot about handling sensitive technology. The care we take in packaging and transporting our equipment is next level, it ensures our products arrive ready for immediate deployment, without compromising quality.
Freya’s journey is a powerful example of what’s possible at GroundProbe, where career growth, meaningful work, and a strong team culture go hand in hand.
