Meet Daniel Leão, our Technical Services Manager based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. After 9 years at GroundProbe, Daniel has taken on diverse roles, each bringing new experiences and challenges that have shaped his career and contributed to his growth.
Can you tell us about your early days at GroundProbe as a Technical Specialist?
I joined GroundProbe in 2015 as a Technical Specialist, working with our slope stability radar technology. My tasks included assembling systems, setting up networks, and providing direct technical support to clients. This role gave me a solid understanding of the technology, which continues to support my growth today.
How did your role change when you became the MonitorIQ Lead Engineer?
After five years, I transitioned to Lead Engineer for MonitorIQ, our geotechnical data platform. I focused on installing and customizing the software, as well as conducting training and workshops for clients. This role deepened my client relationships and demonstrated the significant impact our solutions can have.
What are your main responsibilities now as Technical Services Manager?
Now, as Technical Services Manager, I lead a talented team in Brazil, ensuring we provide high-quality support and troubleshooting. I also work with the sales team and maintain the high service standards GroundProbe is known for. Each role has prepared me for this leadership position, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
What’s been one of your most valued experiences at GroundProbe?
Global collaboration has been a highlight for me. Working with colleagues from diverse locations has enriched my perspective and allowed me to adopt a globally minded approach to problem-solving. It’s been incredibly rewarding to share ideas and best practices with such a talented, multicultural team.
How has international travel influenced your perspective on GroundProbe’s work?
I’ve had the privilege to travel to four different countries on business assignments, and each trip has provided a unique insight into GroundProbe’s global operations. I gained a deep understanding of the different regional requirements and witnessed firsthand how our solutions are tailored to meet diverse customer needs worldwide.”
What has career growth at GroundProbe looked like for you?
GroundProbe has been incredible in supporting my career growth. I began as a Technical Specialist, advanced to MonitorIQ Lead Engineer, and now hold the role of Technical Services Manager. Each position brought new challenges that motivated me to keep developing my skills. The opportunities for growth and recognition have been key motivators throughout my time here.”
